Ayurvedic Remedies

  1. Amalaki: Also known as Amla, works perfectly in eliminating excess heat from the digestive tract. It is also a natural antioxidant. It  promotes healthy functioning of various internal organs, such as, liver, spleen, heart, pancreas and lungs. This herb also has very good laxative properties. Moreover, it helps in rejuvenating & revitalising the body.

 

  1. Arjuna (For heart): Arjuna acts like a tonic to the heart. It is also well known in balancing the three doshas: vata, pitta & kapha. The bark of arjuna tree has been used in India for more than 3000 years, as a heart remedy. Arjuna also used in treating many other health concerns, such as asthma, bile duct disorder, poisoning etc.

 

  1. Ashwagandha: This is the most powerful rejuvenating herb in Ayurveda. It balances vata dosha & revitalizes the body. It is also responsible for boosting libido in both men and women. Hence it provides a natural source of energy. It has shown amazing results in insomnia, adrenal functioning, stress and low vitality.

 

  1. Ashoka: Works as a perfect female tonic, working to balance over all gynecological issues. It relieves pain & discomfort of women. It is a uterine tonic. It strengthens and tones the uterus, assists regular menstruation, promotes healthy ovarian & endometrial tissue.

 

  1. Bilva: Bilva works on diseases related to stomach and the intestines. It balances pitta and kapha in the body. It is responsible for stimulating the digestive fire & eliminating natural toxins from the GI tract. It also reduces the frequency of IBS, intestinal spasm & works on conditions such as diarrhoea, dysentery etc.

 

  1. Brahmi: Brahmi works as a brain tonic in Ayurveda. It contains Brahamine which has the capability to increase the intellectual power. Brahma rejuvenates the mind & helps to overcome concerns such as, stress, anxiety , depression, insomnia, weak memory etc. It opens & clarifies the mind, improves the IQ level, general ability, behavioral pattern & mental concentration. It also encourages a balanced emotional state.

 

  1. Gokshur: Gokshur is a perfect immunity booster & a rejuvenating herb. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-arthritic & anti-hypertensive properties. Gokshur is very useful in managing genito-urinary tract disorders. It promotes healthy flow of urine & soothes the membranes of the urinary tract.

 

  1. Guggulu: Guggulu has very subtle & penetrating qualities. It is a renowned herb in pacifying vata, but along with that it pacifies pitta & kapha. It also helps in maintaining healthy cholesterol levels, weight management, joint movement etc. The scraping quality of Guggulu helps in clearing toxins from the joints and promote healthy movement of the joints.

 

  1. Haridra: Haridra(turmeric) has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. It is traditionally used to support the blood, liver, joints, immune system & digestive tract. It works on toxic conditions. It is an anti-oxidant and also promotes healthy functioning of liver.

 

  1. Kanchnar: Kanchnar helps in pacifying kapha and pitta. Kanchnar is useful in treating tumours & nodules in the body. It is a perfect remedy for hypothyroidism, PCOS, lymphoma, cancer, tumour, goiter.

 

  1. Kumari (aloevera) : This is another Rejuvenating herb. It stimulates the metabolism, heals the internal organs & provides strength to the body. It is a perfect aphrodisiac, diuretic & sooths skin. Kumari contains B12, Vitamin A & E, iron, potassium, calcium, zinc, magnesium, vitamin c, essential amino acids & fatty acids.

 

  1. Kutaj: Kutaj is used for multiple health concerns. Ideally, it is used to cure diarrhea. It is also used to treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), dysentery. Kutaj is bitter, pungent in taste & cold in potency. It is also helpful in diseases like arthritis, pain, inflammation, skin problem, sexual debility etc.

 

  1. Manjishta: This is the quintessential blood purifier in Ayurveda. With its cooling properties, Manjishta helps in pacifying pitta. It eliminates excess heat & natural toxins from the blood, promoting healthy skin & clear complexion.

 

  1. Nirgundi: Nirgundi contains all the properties of vata-pacifying herbs. It also has effective analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-catarrhal & appetizer properties. It is excellent in relieving pain & inflammation in the body. It is beneficial in healing fractures too. Being a vata-pacifying herb, it is very useful in treating conditions like epilepsy,insomnia & vertigo.

 

  1. Pashanbhed: Pashanbhed also known as stone breaker, and is a well- known Ayurvedic herb. It is recognized through its amazing properties in dissolving kidney stones. Along with that, it is ant-diabetic, antipyretic, diuretic, antiscorbutic, anti-inflammatory & protects the liver. It helps to prevent retention of urine, wounds and diseases related to vitiated blood & pitta dosha.

 

  1. Punarnava : In Ayurveda, punarnava is widely used to treat conditions related to the kidney & urinary tract. It is also known as a tonic for the kidneys. It has also been used to cure liver conditions such as jaundice & hepatitis. Punarnava balances pitta and kapha dosha in the body. This herb also contains diuretic, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidative, antibacterial, immunity booster & anti-ageing properties.

 

  1. Sarpagandha: This has been used for ages in Ayurveda, to treat high blood pressure & mental illness. It is mainly prescribed during anxiety, high blood pressure, insomnia etc. It is a well-known tranquillizer & antipsychotic herb. This herb has also seen many positive results in paranoia & schizophrenia.

 

  1. Shatavari: Possessing cooling and calming properties, Shatavari is highly recommended to pacify vata & pitta dosha in the body. It enhances reproductive and digestive health. It has been used for centuries to support female reproductive health. It is also known as a rejuvenating tonic for female reproductive system. The potential health benefit of shatavari includes assisting to treat mood swings, fertility, premenstrual syndrome etc.

 

  1. Tulsi: This is also known as holy basil in Ayurveda. It is also a powerful corticosteroid modulator. Tulsi is high in sattva- the principle of light, perception & clarity. It also helps in boosting energy, to cope with stress and in rejuvenating the body.

 

  1. Varun: Varun is recommended in Ayurveda to treat various concerns related to urinary tract including stones in kidney, ureters and bladder. It is well known for its urinary, antiseptic & litholytic properties.

 

  1. Vasa: Vasa improve the functioning of the respiratory organs. Vasa is bitter, pungent, astringent, light to digest. It increases vata & reduces kapha, pitta in the body. It improves voice quality & relieves cough. Medicinal properties of this herb give support to cleanse our airways & promote healthy breathing.

 

  1. Vidhang: Vidhang supports the body’s natural defense in the GI tract. The main characteristics of Vidhang are hot, pungent and bitter. Vidhang boosts the digestion and helps in eliminating toxins from the GI tract, blood and lymph. Vidhang is particularly good at treating parasite infestations in the gastro-intestinal tract and colon.
