Why consult Ayurveda doctors, Sydney?

An Ayurvedic health consultation is the first step to embracing your unique health needs and reducing disease in the body and mind. It is a holistic  health assessment based on various aspects of your current and past situation, individual body constitution, lifestyle, daily routine, etc.

Since Ayurveda considers health to be a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease, at the Ayurvedic Wellness Centre our trained Ayurveda doctors in Sydney not only examine your body, but will take an extensive personal and medical history, including questions about daily diet, profession and working conditions, exercise routines, relationships and mental health thus emphasizing balance in all areas of your life.

What to expect in an Ayurvedic Consultation?

The initial consultation with one of our experienced and qualified holistic doctors will help you understand your ayurvedic mind-body constitution (dosha) as well as your current state of dosha/doshic imbalance (vikruti). This is followed by a thorough examination and the method used is called the trividha pariksha or the three-fold examination. This includes-

  1. Inspection- By examining your constitution (body shape), facial analysis, observing the skin, hair, height, weight, posture, etc.
  2. Palpation- This phase of the consultation is about getting to know any abnormalities/ irregularities through physical touch with special focus on pulse and tongue diagnosis. Our practitioner’s focus on pulse diagnosis is to check for imbalances as well as to assess your dosha type. Tongue reflects the condition of all the organs and their functions. Tongue assessment helps determine the presence of toxins in the body. By feeling client’s body texture and temperature helps the practitioners to relate them to specific dosha imbalances.
  3. Questioning- The third and final stage involves investigation of the main complaint, symptoms, pathogenesis of the disorder as well as personal history.

Once the initial assessment has been completed our ayurvedic doctors will provide a personalized holistic regime to follow thereby bringing your body to an optimal and balanced state. This regime covers dietary changes, use of ayurvedic herbs, lifestyle changes, yoga exercises, full body massage to remove toxins and relax the muscles, breathing techniques and meditation practices. If Panchakarma is recommended your physician will prescribe a customized detoxification program to kick-start your journey to optimal health.

The goal is to bring the authentic experience of Ayurveda to our clients and therapies that are tailored by our holistic doctors, Sydney to suit your current needs.
