Air is significant of the Vata dosha. Find out more about Ayurveda at the Ayurvedic Wellness Centre in Sydney
People with a predominance of Vata dosha in their make-up are generally possessive of a thin, light frame and have excellent agility. Their energy comes in bursts and, conversely, Vata dosha types are likely to experience sudden onsets of fatigue. Vata types usually have a dry skin complexion, dry hair and colder hands and feet. They are light sleepers and their digestion can be sensitive. When the Vata dosha becomes unbalanced, it manifests in the body as loss of weight, constipation, hypertension, weakness, arthritis, restlessness, and digestive challenges.
Vata dosha types love excitement and seek new experiences. Often, they are quick to emotionally escalate to anger but also, they quickly move to forgive. When Vatas are in balance, they have plenty of energy, creativity, and flexibility. They also are likely to take initiative and are lively, confident conversationalists. When unbalanced, they are prone to worry and anxiousness and often suffer from insomnia. When they feel stressed or overwhelmed, their response is, “What did I do wrong?”
